​2:00pm Shuffling Masterclass Kenzie Chapman breaks down the elements of this high energy dance to make your footwork fire.

3pm Animation Masterclass Collin Adams --AKA Cybot--is pioneering clarity in this very specific dance style. Absolutely a must for those wanting to expand their range of battle weapons.​​

9:00 After Party The Battle is over. Let the fun begin. It's like a club, but the drinks are next door (Bout Time Pub) so no one will spill on you.

6:00 Battles Begin . 1v1 Attack. Watch dancers from all over Utah battle for prizes.

Collin, also known as “Cybot,” is a street dance illusionist specializing in robot and animation styles. Passionate about the art form, Collin is always eager to share his knowledge and spark meaningful conversations around what animation means as a dance style and its history.
Kenzie Chapman REGISTER NOW $20
Resident Hip Hop Instructor
Kenzie has training in popping, waving, contemporary, and shuffling. Dance has been a therapeutic outlet since she started training at age 10. She loves seeing others light up when they learn and master skills on their journey of expression. That's why she loves teaching. Her enthusiasm and kindness is why her students love her.

Kramer Snead
Self-taught boogaloo style popper. Kramer's first dance style was Chicago footwork where he was born and found popping through midwest legend, Pringlez. Kramer has since won battles in multiple states and hosted his own jam.
He brings authentic hype as an advocate for the hip hop community for it's positive role in our culture.

We are thrilled to have Seth return as an expert judge for the Ogden Epic.

He has been training, dancing, and winning battles for over a decade. He started in Funk and then he found Krump. He is a movement enthusiast who shares the knowledge and culture he has experienced in his years of battling and performing.

We are honored to have [sir.tonga] judge for us for the first time.

Representing Blowup, KingZ, and Hyprids Crew, he has been dancing since 2006 and remains undefeated in Connect Four.

With an eye for quality in multiple styles, fairness and passion are reflected in his decisions.

Happy to welcome Bennii to the judge's seat with his authentic flair and experience.
Part time Dancer and full time Nigerian, he is a long time part of the dance and crew scene with an eye for art and sensibility of the street, he knows good when he sees it. Bring your best.

Janika Byington
Founder FOR THE LOVE OF Studio
Janika's talents are varied. Her passion for the work is intense. She is committed to making creative arts a viable living for thousands of artists. Her training is in classical ballet. But she can still let lose and have fun--even though she is 50+ Let's not limit ourselves shall we?
Kenzie Chapman
Dance Director
Kenzie is an entrepreneurial artist with deep passion for building the dance community. The Salt Lake City battle scene became a passion in 2023. She teaches hip hop at The DF Dance Studio with training in popping, waving, contemporary, and shuffling. Dance has been a therapeutic outlet since she started training at age 10. She loves seeing other light up when they learn and master skills on their journey of expression.
how did we get here
At our inaugural event on November 9, 2024, we welcomed the Utah dance community to Newgate Mall in Ogden. We support both just-for-fun and highly competitive dancers with training and performance.

Kenzie walked into FOR THE LOVE OF Studio and met Janika. The conversation sparked an idea that lead to a collaboration, that lead to an incredible team of passionate, skilled, performers and teachers.

We host Epic battles in August and January. We also have weekly in-studio cyphers every Tuesday at 8 monthly workshops, and weekly classes. Create and connect the Ogden dance community and build your skills.
